Android App Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 2026
This Android App Privacy Policy supplements the primary FunPayroll.com Privacy Policy. It specifically addresses how the FunPayroll Android application (published on the Google Play Store under the package identifier my.FunPayroll.com) collects, processes, and protects your data.
Role of the Employer: FunPayroll acts strictly as a Service Provider (Data Processor) for your employer (the Data Controller). All employment data collected through this app is owned and managed by your employer.
1. Android Permissions and Data Collection
To provide core workforce management features, the Android app requests specific device permissions. We only collect data when it is necessary for the app's functionality:
- Location for Punch Verification (ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION / ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION / ACCESS_BACKGROUND_LOCATION): GPS location is collected when you start a clock-in, clock-out, or meal punch so your employer can verify attendance at designated worksites. On supported Android devices, location access may remain available briefly if the app moves to the background while a punch workflow that you started is finishing. We do not use location for continuous tracking and we do not collect location between punches.
- Camera and Storage (READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE / CAMERA): Accessed only when you explicitly choose to upload a photo, such as taking a picture of a receipt for a reimbursement request or updating your profile photo. We do not scan your device's photo gallery or files.
- Biometric Hardware: If enabled for quick sign-in, the app utilizes Android's native
BiometricPrompt. FunPayroll never accesses, collects, or transmits your actual fingerprint or facial recognition data. The app only receives a cryptographic success/failure signal from the Android operating system.
- Device & App Data: We collect non-identifiable device telemetry (such as Android OS version, device model, and crash logs) to monitor app stability and push notification tokens (Firebase Cloud Messaging) to send you important shift or payroll alerts.
2. How We Use Your Information
Data collected via the Android app is used exclusively to operate the workforce platform on behalf of your employer, including:
- Recording accurate timesheets and enforcing employer geofencing rules.
- Processing payroll workflows and routing reimbursement requests.
- Delivering push notifications regarding schedule changes, time-off approvals, or missing punches.
- Securing your account against unauthorized mobile access.
3. Data Sharing and Google Play Data Safety
In compliance with Google Play's Data Safety requirements, we disclose that we do not sell your personal data, nor do we share it with data brokers or advertising networks. Your data is only shared with:
- Your Employer: Authorized administrators and managers within your organization have full access to your timecards, location punches, and submitted records.
- Service Providers: Secure cloud infrastructure providers (e.g., our database hosts) that are contractually bound to safeguard your data and use it only to provide the FunPayroll service.
4. Data Security
All data transmitted between the Android app and FunPayroll servers is encrypted using industry-standard HTTPS/TLS protocols. Sensitive local data, such as authentication session tokens, is stored securely using the Android Keystore system to prevent unauthorized extraction by other apps on your device.
5. Account and Data Deletion
Because your employer is the legal custodian (Data Controller) of your employment records, FunPayroll cannot arbitrarily delete your account or timecard data upon request. To request the deletion of your account or personal data:
- You must submit the request directly to your employer's HR or administrative team.
- Once authorized by your employer, FunPayroll will execute the deletion in accordance with applicable labor and tax retention laws.
Uninstalling the Android app removes local application data from your device but does not delete your records from your employer's FunPayroll database.
6. Your Device Choices
You can manage your Android permissions at any time through your device's settings:
- Settings > Apps > FunPayroll > Permissions: Here you can revoke location, camera, or storage access. Note that revoking location access will prevent you from clocking in if your employer requires GPS verification.
- Settings > Apps > FunPayroll > Notifications: You can mute or disable push notifications at your discretion.
